| The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted an all expense paid trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida to Caitlyn Keefer and her family. Caitlyn was enrolled at our Fork Road Head Start Center, her teacher was Cheryl Gonzalez. The Make-A-Wish Foundation tries to fulfill wishes of severely ill children. Caitlyn was born with multiple medical problems. Scoliosis (curved spine), and low muscle tone are only two of the many medical problems that Caitlyn suffers from. |

She has endured many complicated surgeries and will continue to have them
for years to help correct her medical problems. Caitlyn has been enrolled
at our Fork Road Head Start for the past two years. She transitioned into
our program from the United Way of the piedmont Early Head Start Program. During a staffing meeting last year Caitlyn made a wish that included a trip to Disney World. Team members suggested to Caitlyn’s mother Tracey Channel, that she contact the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She received a positive reply from the foundation very soon after applying. The trip for Disney World was scheduled for February of 2002. When Caitlyn was interviewed by the Make-A-Wish official they asked for three wishes. Her first wish was to go to Disney World, secondly she wanted to meet country singer Faith Hill and her third wish was to get a computer. The Foundation always tries to fulfill a child’s first wish, so Caitlyn’s wish was granted. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Caitlyn and her family had a great time in Disney World. |
